Ice cream is our favorite dessert.
Every day around the world, people enjoy different gastronomic wonders and achievements. They are passionate about food prepared just in a certain way. You are wondering who came up with a meal or how people lived without it. Do you sometimes wonder the origin of the food you eat? Do you ever wonder where does come from the ice cream?
The origin of ice cream
The source of ice cream is not precisely determined. Which is a miracle when considering its status as the sovereign ruler of summer treats today. What we know for sure is that people started to make a dessert of fruit and a crushing ice or mountain snow very early. It assumed that China or old Persia was the first cultures to worship this dessert. Besides, the fact that from China comes to the first ice cream machine, and there is an opinion that Marko Polo himself has brought the recipe for ice cream from their travels in China to Italy.
As many think ice cream comes from Italy, it should say that the precursor to today’s ice cream is an Italian delicacy (sorbet). A dessert made of saturated water (ice) that has added to the fruit.
It is interesting that the dark Middle Ages of Europe, along with many other good and useful things, have banished sorbet. You can guess, sorbet accused of symbolizing sin. In that time in the Middle East, they imagined new ways. Freezing-the fruit juices placed in the barrels soaked in crushed ice. Renaissance time returned by the sorbets on the table. When it serves as a dessert after freezing in the metal plates of various shapes, and the form of a small art piece on the table.
At the beginning of the 17th century, the sorbet known in all major cities in Europe. Data suggests that the first coffee shop was open around 1660 in the area of French Alps. The Museum of Ice Cream
Today, in the Italian town of Anzola Dell’emilia near Bologna. There is a world Museum of ice cream culture, built by Carpigiani – the manufacturer of the ice cream machine.
The museum shows the history of ice cream from the first snow warehouses, through the sorbets of ice and salt, developed by the Chinese, to the technology of the 20th century.
One of the exciting stories at the museum is the one about an Alchemist Cosimo Ruggieri to the Medici’s. He made the ice cream that Catherine de Medici took to Paris to impress the French.
Also, there is the first written world recipe for “shrb,” sugar syrup in Arabic, the tract of Naples physician Filip Baldy’s “De Sorbetti” about the medicinal properties of ice cream and 20 old ice-cream machines, among which the first automatic machine “Cattabriga” from the 1931 year.
Ice cream in the chrono diet
The chrono diet allows you to eat most foods as long as they are eating at the appropriate times throughout the day.
I believe that most of those who implement the rules of the Chrono diet, first of all, want healthy and balanced to feed, and should not neglect the factor of weight or maintenance of fit lines. For me, the food is primarily an investment in myself and my health, because for more than a year I have not consumed white sugar, white flour, industrial and processed products, various substitutes for fats and sugar replacements in the form of margarine, Saharina, fructose, etc.
Also, I made a habit of regular meals, so I can’t imagine my day at work, and neither my colleagues who are often sticking over my shoulder, without a bowl of lunch. For me, it is always a challenge to make a good, quality, and healthy meal, which does not imply wise, hours in the kitchen and too much food, and therefore too much money. And I also know that I eat the same dish for two or three days, if the situation demands it.
The sweet addict will always be a sweet addict. I’m not addicted to sweets, but sometimes I like to eat something a little sweet.
Why not eat sometimes ice creams, if we love it?
As we know, bananas cannot be a daily chrono snack. But we also know that those who have attained the desired weight, as well as those who are training can eat this fruit occasionally. Also, if we want to make a healthy snack for children, banana is an excellent choice for perfect ice cream.
- 1 small frozen banana
- A half-frozen or fresh mango
- A half teaspoon of vanilla aroma
- Agave syrup to taste
- Dice the flesh of the mango and banana. Puree using a blender, food processor or stick blender
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Whisk until combined.
- Pour into a container (preferably with a lid). I recommend glass if you can, or another nonreactive container.
- Freeze for 4-5 hours.
- 200 ml of mature breadfruit, baked and grated
- One frozen banana
- 100 ml of coconut cream
- Agave syrup to taste
- One teaspoon of vanilla aroma
- Add all ingredients to ice cream maker for 25-30 minutes.
Then place in the freezer.
Serve when frozen to desired consistency.
Ice cream with baked almond butter
- One small frozen banana
- 3 tbsp of baked almond butter
- 100 ml of almond milk
- Agave syrup to taste
- Stir it all together and leave in the freezer for at least four hours. Take out 15 minutes before serving.
- 3 eggs
- A half cup of raspberries
- 1,5 tbsp xylitol
- Beat the eggs yolk with xylitol. Beat the eggs white too. To test that it has beaten enough, let a small amount of batter fall into the bowl. If it remains "sitting" on top, it means that it's ready.
- Stir it with raspberries, pour in plastic glass and place in the freezer.
Edible Little Bowl
We design the bowl ourselves and make it to the size it suits us.
So I took one plastic bowl filled with water, put a spoon in it and left it in the freezer overnight.
After that, dissolve 100 g of dark chocolate in steam and remove the bowl that we left in the freezer overnight. Withdraw the spoon from the plastic bowl so that the water that was in it goes out along with the spoon (exits like ice cream on the stick).
In the melted chocolate, roll the ice and shape the bowl. Since chocolate automatically squeezes around the ice while still is soft. Then decorate with nutmeg or walnut with your hand. Separate it from the ice with your hand and fill it with homemade ice cream.
